It's gonna be a bright...bright sunshiny day!

Thanks to Uncle Steve, who captured these shots of our girl and her sweet cousins at the Rockwood Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter. He is amazing at capturing just the right moments. Fun to spend time together, too!

Easter

Photobucket

Easter was so fun this year! Twelve days leading up to Easter, I read a special Bible story about Jesus with an egg Gracie got to open for each story. Each egg had something in it. Like on the 11th day, we read the story of Jesus on the cross, and the egg had a nail and a Band-Aid in it. (Gotta break it down for the little ones. Jesus went through some pretty hardcore stuff.) On the 12th day (Easter), the egg was empty because the tomb was empty! She's been asking for her "Jesus story and egg" almost every day since then...I guess that's how good habits can be made. I wasn't really sure what kind of an impact it would have on her.

She loved dyeing eggs together, and hunting them at my folks' house before our big Easter dinner. Mimi and Papa gave Gracie her pretty Easter dress and sandals (Momma tried to do a cute 'do - Mimi said she looked like a little Dutch girl), Nana and Grampy gave her a bubble mower, and we gave her a little bubble gun. She loved it all.

Easter & 23 Months

Photobucket

Hello there. It's been awhile. Spring has been busier than we expected it to be! We have been busy with Easter egg hunts, dying eggs, an Avenue paper party, Easter, and happy events of many friends and family.

Oh, and Grace is 23 months old today! One month shy of two whole years! She hasn't changed drastically from last month, however, she is putting words together to make short sentences. (Hi, Aya! which means hi to our dog Ellie). We definitely feel like translators as Grace has a language all her own. She is identifying things more and more and verbalizing them. She disapproves of diaper changes and her high chair, mostly because she is just so busy all the time! Right now she is loving trucks, balls, pop-up books, purses, baby dolls, the outdoors, animals, phones, keys, doors, sliding...the list keeps growing just like she does! In one short month our baby will be two!
